ABOUT NCC

NCC is the single largest uniformed youth organization of the world which functions to develop qualities of character, leadership, comradeship, courage, discipline, the spirit of adventure, secular outlook and the ideals of selfless service amid the youth of the country. National Cadet Corps is a tri-services organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The college has an NCC Army wing under 37 KAR (BN) NCC. Students are enrolled for a period of 3 years. The NCC wing of the college organizes regular parades with the support of the battalion and cadets take part in camps, certificate exams, etc. In addition, the NCC wing is actively involved in conducting various events which enable the cadets to be patriotic and socially responsible citizens.

1/37 ‘A’ COY, 37 KAR BATTALION, BASVESHWAR COMMERCE, COLLEGE BAGALKOT Est.: 1973 – 74

  • The National Cadet Corps is into existence at the College since the academic year 1973-74 under 1/37 ‘A’ COY, 37 KAR BATTALION, BAGALKOT

    Ever since inception, the college unit is giving ARMY training to the students.

    The unit has undertaken many social service activities over the years. Our unit has a standing record of sending cadets for the Republic Day parade at New Delhi.

Definition, Meaning, and Scope of the NSS

The NSS was launched in India on 24 September 1969, to mark the birth centenary year of “Father of our Nation”, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

Objectives

  • To develop leadership, the character of comradeship, the spirit of sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service.
  • To create a force of disciplined and trained manpower to serve the nation at the time of emergency and calamities.
  • To inculcate officer like qualities among youth

Activities

Outbound Activities

  • THAL SAINIK CAMP: 4 SD attended TSC IGC camp at VIJAYPUR  the said camp was conducted by 36 KAR NCC unit BALLARI group in 03 AUG 2018 TO 12 AUG 2018
  • SURGICAL STRIKE DIWAS CELEBRATION: 48 cadets participated in SURGICAL STRIKE DIWAS celebration at 37 KAR BN BAGALKOT. DATE:- 29/09/2018
  • COMBINED ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP-1: 25 cadets participated in the CATC-1 CAMP held at GADDANKERI SPINNING MILL, BAGALKOT. from 13-JULY -2018 to 22-JULY -2018
  • REPUBLIC DAY CAMP (RDC): 6 CADETS attended RDC  camp at BALLARY   the said camp was conducted by 34  KAR NCC unit BALLARI group in 06 /10/ 2018 TO 15/10/2018
  • ARMED FORCED HOSPITAL ATTACHMENT CAMP: 2 SW CADETS   attended AFHA CAMP  at BANGALORE     the said camp was conducted  FROM  26 /11/ 2018 TO 15/12/2018
  • SWATCH BHARAT AWARENESS RALLY: NCC unit Conducted “SWATCH BHARAT  AWARENESS RALLY ” on 27  the September 2018 Around 50  attendees including faculties 2 PI STAFF  personnel took part in the rally covering  5km stretch. The Rally was intended to intensify the awareness about SWATCH BHARAT  AWARENESS
  • BLOOD DONATION CAMP: NCC unit in association with NSS unit Conducted “Blood Donation Camp” on 12 OCTOBER 2018, the medical support was extended by Indian Red Cross Society and also supervised by the latter. Around 100 units of Blood was donated by donors which included faculty members, students, NCC Cadets and also Ex-NCC cadets of BASVESHWAR COMMERCE bagalkot
  • OPEN DEFECATION RALLY: “OPEN DEFECATION RALLY” was organized on 25 the September 2018, in which around 50 attendees took part covering a distance of 4 Km. The rally was flagged off by the presence of principal prof. Smt H. SHETTAR, Basaveshwar commerce   College, Bagalkot, and LT Dr.M.Nanjundaswamy 
  • CLEANLINESS DRIVE: The NCC unit conducted Cleanliness driveon 26 to Sep 2018 as per the guidance by the Directorate. Around 40 cadets took part and engaged in cleaning In Basaveshwar campus. Waste collected was segregated into wet and dry waste and same was dumped into a nearby garbage
  • B’ & ‘C’ CERTIFICATE EXAM: 15 SD &04 SWCADETS appeared for B certificate exam on 17 the Feb at 36 KAR BN NCC VIJAYPUR, and on 23 & 24th of Feb 06 SDs & 03 SWs appeared for ‘C’ certificate exam at 37 KAR BN

In-House Activities

  • INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA:The NCC unit organized the International Day of Yoga Celebration on 21st June Around 50 students including NCC cadets took part in the event, the inauguration was done by the Shri veranna charantimath  chairman of B.V.V.S. Sangha and. The trainer of the event was Mr.Ravi Hosmani & Shri  Sangeeta  Balganur who led the Yoga session and motivated the cadets and students to adopt yoga for healthy and harmonious life by distributing the Common Yoga Protocol booklets whilst concluding the event.
  • ENROLLMENT OF FRESH CADETS: NCC unit conducted the selections for the training year 2018-19 on AUG 16 2018, around 100 students from 37 KAR BN NCC took part in the selections out of which 26 cadets were selected. The selections were conducted under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, Sub. Major, NCO and other ranks.
  • INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION: On 72ndIndependence Day, celebration around BASVESHWAR COMMERCE College NCC cadets took part in the preparation and final celebration on 15 Aug 2018. Several programmes were held like Parade Commanding, Piloting/Escorting the Guest, Solo Dance, Flag De hoisting and NCC Cadets Ranking Ceremony.
  • ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION:The NCC unit conducted an essay writing competition on The subject  of  Mahatma Gandhi life history  on 06 Feb 2019
  • BHAGAT SING JAYANTI: On BHAGAT, SING JAYANTI. on 28/09/18, NCC unit conducted OF 111th birth Anniversary
  • REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION: On the occasion of 70 the Republic Day celebration around 50 cadets took part in the various activities such as Drill, Cultural performance

Achievements

  • JUO AKSHAY HARDOLLI  was designated as the “Cadet Camp Captain”  by the battalion to lead the camp of 900 attendees
  • The Commanding Officer awarded JUO AKSHAY HARDOLLI as “Overall Best cadet”.
  • JUO AKSHAY HARDOLLI was awarded as the “Best Camp Senior”
  • Alpha Coy. Led by SUO Naveen Ganiger stood as a “first frizein drill ” Competition.
  • Alpha Coy. Secured runner up position in the Volley Ball competition.
  • Cadet Ranganath Patil took Gold medal in shooting
  • Cadet Rangappa Doni took Gold medal in tent pitching
  • cadet Riyaz indiganal took Gold medal in tent pitching

  • Pre-RDC selection:- Conducted by 37KAR BN NCC from16/09/18 to 05/09/18 in Bagalkot .10 cadets of Basaveshwar commerce College NCC unit participated in the Pre-RDC selections and among the 06 selected cadets from whole 37 KAR BN NCC
  • FIRST RDC CAMP  FROM 06/10/18 TO 15/10/18 – 06 Cadets were participated  in under battalion computation and ONE SENIOR WING (SW) cadets were selected to IGC RDC camp
  • IGC (RDC) CONDUCTED FROM 22/10/18 TO 31/10/18 – Mamata Nayak was participated Inter-Group Competition Held at BALLARI CONDUCTED by 34 KAR BN NCC.
  • ARMED FORCED HOSPITAL ATTACHMENT CAMP   FROM 26/11/2018-05/12/2018-  TWO SENIOR WING (SW) Cadets participated in this camp which held in Bengaluru
